Making a digital cartoon Gecco Lizard

This basic tutorial requires some basic drawing knowledge and a computer graphics program like Corel or Photoshop(off course you can also try it the traditional way too with paint and a canvas) .basic color pallet

The main objective is not to create an exact replica of the Lizard displayed above, but to further develop your artistic skills.

Our color pallet selected contains five basic colors, two shades of green for the skin, blue for the eye, red for the tongue an outline color, and also a shadow color.

First you need to create a basic lizard frame, start with the body, add thebasic Lizard outline legs and arms and then finish with the head. Select a drawing tool that has a pixel thickness of 3 or 4. Taper off the lines around the corners to make it look more natural.

Use a color fill tool to quickly add the green base color to your drawing for the lizard’s skin. Also ad the blue for the eyes and red for the tongue.

start to add color to your LizardA brush tool is used with the other green color to add the second green shade to the lizard’s skin.

Then finally add the shading and highlights. This stage is important because proper placement of the shadows and highlights can make or break an image. Now try these techniques to make other cartoon animals.
